On Monday September 21, 2009, the Mayor's Office of HIV Resources (MOHR) name changed to the Denver Office of HIV Resources (DOHR). The Denver Office of HIV Resources (DOHR) was recognized by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) as a model program for implementing the Ryan White legislation (HIV/AIDS Modernization Act of 2006). The Denver HIV Resources Planning Council, as the organization that develops the plan for delivery of HIV/AIDS clinical and support services, is proud to be a crucial element of that model program. Medicare Covers HIV Screening Tests
In December 2009, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that Medicare expanded the list of covered preventive services to include HIV screening tests, effective immediately. They determined it is reasonable and necessary for early detection of HIV and is appropriate for individuals entitled to benefits under Part A or enrolled under Part B. Learn more.
