Who should attend: Community members and providers who would like an opportunity to give input on the Affordable Care Act and Health Disparities findings for the Planning Council to consider at the Priorities Process.

Members decide resource allocation for service categories.

Who should attend: Special Meeting for DHRPC Members, open to the public

Location: McNichols Civic Center, 144 West Colfax, Denver, CO

The Planning Council must find out what services are needed and what populations need care (needs assessment.) Next, it decides what services to fund in the EMA or TGA (Priority Setting) and decides how much Part A money should be used for each of the services (Resource Allocation.) Learn more.


+  Colorado Health Reform and HIV: "Benefits BootCamp Training"

Who should attend: Ryan White Part A and B Contractors, Program Managers, Medical Case Managers and social workers

Location: Denver Botanical Gardens

Under the Affordable Care Act, the majority of current Ryan White clients will need to transition to Medicaid or the Health Insurance Exchange for their medical care effective January 1, 2014. This free, two-day training will ensure that you understand your role in assisting your clients in this transition with the least amount of confusion. Learn more.


+ Medicaid Enrollment Community Resource Fair

September 13, 10am-3pm 

Who should attend: All interested parties who wish to learn more about enrolling for medical benefits, medical service providers and consumers

Location: McNichols Civic Center, 144 West Colfax, Denver, CO

Booths are free for providers whose purpose corresponds to the Planning Council's mission. This event is free and open to the public and will include a free lunch. Learn more.

Rocky Mountain CARES offers an 8-week-long HIV+ support group on Wednesday evenings starting in March 2013 with a mission to provide educational, emotional, holistic and social support to those infected by HIV. Specific dates to be announced. Learn more (pdf).


 

+  Colorado HIV/AIDS Care and Prevention Coalition

February 25; May 20; August 26; November 4

Who should attend: People living with HIV, service providers and/or case managers

The Coalition was created to advise the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment regarding the best means to meet the needs of persons in Colorado living with HIV/AIDS. The Coalition serves as an expert resource providing advice and information to the department on issues, trends, needs and resources pertaining to HIV/AIDS in the promotion of effective HIV Prevention and care programs. Registration is required to accommodate copies and seating arrangements. Teleconference option available as well as possible travel and lodging stipends if requests in advance. Learn more.

Rocky Mountain CARES (RMC) is offering a Community Education Series.  RMC provides high quality centralized medical care, supportive services and rich educational and research resources to a diverse and inclusive Colorado HIV/AIDS community. + Denver Health Community Voices Enrollment Van

Enrollment opportunities happen daily at various schools, churches and community-based organizations. Click here to view the van's current schedule.

Who should attend: Residents in Denver communities who want to be enrolled into publicly funded health care financial assistance programs such as Medicaid and the Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+.)

Throughout the next three calendar years the Health Access Express Enrollment Van is expected to reach 7,200 individuals. An appointment must be scheduled. Learn more.
